We have taken part in numerous events over the last week or so to commemorate the lives of people who have died in wars all over the world and to support our local Armed Forces community. Our KS2 pupils took part in a workshop led by a charity that supports service families. They learned about symbols used and created their own medals based on their own personal experiences. Y6 School Council representatives attended the RAF Brize Norton Station Service.
We learned more about the role of the Armed Forces and what Remembrance means to them through a visit from Col. J. Marlow, who laid a wreath at the local memorial with our service pupils. Our Churchwarden Jenny Insch also joined us.
The charity Standing with Giants kindly donated to us some silhouettes and poppy wreaths.
We held a short community service and silence on Friday morning, which the whole school attended as a mark of respect.
"The governors, headteacher, rector and staff are all united in a compelling vision of this church school supported by a parent body who actively share in this vision."
