Belonging, Believing, Building a Future

School & Community

St Peter's is a small village school, rated as 'Good' by OFSTED (2020) and 'Outstanding' in its Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS 2018).

St Peter’s is an integral part of the community and has close links with St Peter’s Church which is part of the Shill Valley and Broadshires Benefice. Members of the community attended the school themselves and the families feel a strong tie with and warmth for the school.

The children in the school take an active part in village events and the villagers support our school functions. The school supports and participates in village events including the annual fete.

Sometimes the school makes use of the village playing field and multi-use games area for PE. Visits to key buildings in the village such as the Church and The Old Bakery help to develop the children's knowledge and understanding of the history of the village.

Supporting local and international communities through fundraising and ensuring that children gain an awareness and understanding of the needs of others from an early age is central to our school’s ethos.
